I am raising two boys into apostolic men and I am wondering if there is any information on some sort of 'right of passage' ceremony that I could do with my boys and the boys in our local church. I have a question though. . .is altar service prayer for praise, or repentance, or maybe both? It's kinda hard to concentrate on receiving the Holy Spirit when I feel I might be doing it wrong. I believe that we as Pentecostals need to take a serious look at our alter services. The alter service for me, has always been a time when I felt a special nearness to our Lord Jesus. Back in the early 70's, I remember a song called "Lead me to the Alter". The chours went something like this,"lead me to the alter, lead me to the alter, I hear Jesus my Saviour calling me. His tender voice I hear, I feel his presence near. Lead me to the alter, lead me". At the alter is so greatly needed in our day and age we live in.
